My teaching and research interests are both built on my longstanding interest in symbolic interactionism and critical theory. Meaning-making, hegemony, and the structure/agency interplay exist as the common thread in much of what I think and do. When I am not sociologizing professionally, I am running long(ish) distances in and around Sacramento.
